Superficial Solution 0% is designed for new technicians who would like to practice on either clients or friends without risking poor lasting results. Every technician has to start somewhere. This solution has a wonderful bronze color guide and provides your test client with an instant color that will not last past their first shower. It is only topical, with no DHA to prevent any lasting color. It is the best way to train with no-risk until you are comfortable spraying with regular solution. WHY ENVYTAN? ' 10 Steps to a Perfect Spray Tan '

1. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO SHAKE YOUR SOLUTION WELL. Our solution is mixed in small quantities with no chemical additives or stabilizers. As such, it is important that you shake the solution prior to every application. Please make sure that solution is stored in a cool place away from light. Ideally, you should refrigerate your solution to maintain the highest level of solution freshness.

2. USE ONLY 1-2 OZ OF SOLUTION PER SPRAY TAN. This is the correct amount of solution that should be used (per application) to properly apply an airbrush tan to your clients. Never use more solution unless your client is physically above average in size.

3. GLITTER DROPS/SCENT BOOSTS: If you really want to offer your clients a customized tanning experience, let them choose the Scent Boost and Glitter Drop of their choice for their sunless tan. 4. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CLIENT'S SKIN IS PROPERLY PREPPED: Excellent solution must be partnered with proper skin care before, during, and after your client's spray tan. This line includes products in the Pre-Tan, Self-Tanning, and Post-Tan sections to protect and prolong the life of your client's sunless tan. 5. CLIENT DISPOSABLES: Don't skimp on offering these items to your customers. These items will distinguish you from the competitor across the street. Offer your clients our 'Over It: Disposable Hair Caps', 'Fling: Disposable Client Underwear', 'Nobody Knows: Disposable Nose Filters' and 'Sole Patrol: Disposable Sole Protector Shields'. These products help to protect your client's hair, clothing, and the soles of their feet during their sunless tanning session. Do yourself a favor and invest a little bit of money in these client disposables so that you have happy clients every time. These products are listed on the enclosed Skin Type Chart.

6. THIS IS A ONE-COAT SOLUTION. Applying one light coat of our solution will definitely give you the results that you are after. You should not over apply to the point where your client appears wet. If you feel like some areas are darker than others, then just go back over the lighter areas. Do not respray the entire body. When applied correctly, your client will have little or no excess rub off and should be almost completely dry upon completion of their spray tan. As with any solution, too little is better than too much! A few minutes in front of the fan and you will have a happy, dry client with no sticky feel to the touch.

7. USE KILLER ENVY DROPS, NOT A STRONGER SOLUTION, IF YOU NEED A DARKER 'OUT THE DOOR' COLOUR, OR YOU JUST LIKE A DARKER COLOUR GUIDE. EnvyTan solution is neither too dark nor too light-it is just right! Our colour guide (or the colour that you see instantly on your client's skin) provides a very natural 'TAN' look, but you will find that it is lighter than most colour guides. If you have used other products in the past with very dark colour guides/bronzers and try to duplicate the same look with our solution (minus the Killer Envy Fuel Drops), you will NOT have the end result that your clients are seeking. The Killer Envy Colour Guard Darkener Drops (available in our Envy Store) will ONLY darken the colour guide, but have NO additional DHA to damage your clients lasting tan. Example, you can add 2-3 ml of Killer Envy to any level of our solution to produce darker 'OUT THE DOOR' tan colour and darken the colour guide for yourself without having to apply a stronger solution to get the same instant results. 8. BEADING/DROPS. If you notice beading on your client's skin, you are too close, the setting on your equipment is at the wrong level. Simply step back from the client and adjust the nozzle on your Apollo HVLP equipment spray gun. Spray the solution into your glove to make sure that you are getting a light mist, and not a splattering type of effect. Then simply begin to spray your client again with the adjusted equipment. If you make a mistake, just use our 'Cover Up: Spray Tanning Blotters' to gently blot the over sprayed area, and then respray. Your clients will never know the difference.

9. REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS. If your client is not a 'Deep Dark Nubian Princess' when you start with them, they will not be one when you are done. If you try to make a client darker than they should be, they will ultimately end up unhappy. Unrealistic expectations are and will continue to be a factor in our industry, so it is imperative that we educate ourselves, and our clients as to what is 'Real' and what is 'Wishful Thinking'. Think about who you think of when you think of a healthy tan. It may be Jennifer Anniston or Eva Longoria Parker, but it is not someone who has dark brown, leathery looking skin. Ask your clients to be realistic in their expectations about the end colour of their sunless tan. They should want to look sun kissed, not sun damaged. If you spray someone with a fair skin tone with solution that is too dark for them, trust us when we tell you that when their sunless tan starts to fade, they will be very unhappy with the results. Work with your clients to find the ideal colour for their skin type. It's a process; so let them know that you will work with them until you find the perfect balance of colour for them. 10. EXPLAIN THE PROCESS TO YOUR CLIENTS. Make sure your clients understand that the colour guide will wash off in the shower and that the DHA needs at least 6-10 hours to develop. No showering or heavy physical activities during this time. You should take the time to print out and use our 'Pre and Post Tan Instructions Sheet', available free of charge on our website to help your clients understand the process.
